Our Story

Owned and managed by Nikki Laventure, Woodlands was created to provide accessible and affordable childcare for all families.

Nikki’s vision comes from over 20 years in childcare and a deep understanding that early education changes lives.

Established in 2019, Woodlands Preschool operates during school term time, offering a Forest School-inspired early years environment for children aged 2 to 5. The setting combines a passion for nature with high-quality educational provision, open from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Since opening, we’ve grown steadily, built a full team of dedicated staff, and completed significant refurbishments to both our indoor and outdoor spaces.

Managing Director & Owner

Over 20 years in childcare across multiple roles. Qualified practitioner with Paediatric First Aid. DSL for safeguarding.

Deputy Manager

Specialises in planning, parent partnerships, and physical activity coordination.

Hollie Phillips

Third in Charge & SENCo

Supports children with additional needs.

Chelsea Edwards

Third in charge

Lead for Personal, Social & Emotional Development.

Senior Practitioner

Speech & Language Coordinator and Outdoor Provisions Master. Deputy SENCo

Qualified Practitioner

Level 3 qualified, also serves as Activity Chef.

Level 2 Practitioner

Head of Literacy, Level 2 qualified.

Assistant Practitioner

SEN experience, working toward Level 3. Health and safety rep.

We’re registered for 15 and 30 free hours for eligible families, plus Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credit support.
